Is this legal in my state?
Top Dog Football League is structured as a skill-game contest with 100% charitable pass-through. The skill-game posture relies on UIGEA Section 5362's carve-out for predominantly-skill contests; the charitable structure means no commercial gambling operator is taking a rake. Specific state-level eligibility and any age restrictions appear at registration. If your state restricts participation, registration will tell you before you pay.
Where exactly does my $5 go?
100% of your entry fee goes to the charity you select at registration — either Best Friends Animal Society or Gigi's Playhouse. Top Dog Football League takes zero rake. Prizes are funded separately by partner sponsors (Healthy Spot, Bentley's, Groombar) — not from your entry fee.
What if my pack doesn't win the grand prize?
The prize structure rewards more than just first place. Weekly treat winners trigger every time a team in your pack wins on Sunday. Season-long milestone payouts distribute multiple prizes across positions 2-5 plus partner gift cards for season-long participants. Most players win something.
What's a "dog" — is this a fantasy football clone?
No. Every team has a rescue-dog character with a real backstory, real breed, real city. You're not picking the Bears — you're rooting for Slats, the mutt from Chicago. You're not picking the 49ers — you're rooting for Jerry, the Bay Area Doodle. Each character has a card, a story, and a place in the league universe.
What about my data and contact info?
We collect name, email, phone for league communications (Tuesday Verdict standings, treat-winner SMS alerts). Your dog's details (name, breed, weight, birthday) power the personalized newsletter and partner gift offers. You can opt out of any channel at any time. We never sell data. Full privacy policy at registration.
Is this an established league or a launch?
This is the Inaugural Public Season for 2026·27. We're in pre-season beta. Founders have run skill-game pools privately for years; the public-facing operation, charity structure, and partner-funded prize architecture all launch fresh this season. You're getting in on Day One.
